WELLONE BOARD MEMBER HONORED WITH EXAM ROOM NAMING

February 27th, 2014

Heidi Colwell Served 28 Consecutive Years as Volunteer Member

In a first-ever action, the WellOne Board on Tuesday, January 14th honored its recently retired member, Heidi Colwell, for her 28 consecutive years of service by naming a medical exam room after her at its Foster facility. Family, friends, WellOne Board members, and staff gathered for the dedication ceremony and luncheon.

Heidi is a resident of Foster and served for a period of time as the Town Clerk of Foster. Ms. Colwell first joined the Board in 1985 when the agency was known as Northwest Community Nursing and Health Service, Inc. and operated as a visiting nurse association and rural health clinic. Since that time she has helped to guide the agency through challenging financial conditions, a major transformation into a community health center that provides primary medical, dental, behavioral health, and patient support services, and significant expansion to three locations that currently serve over 13,000 patients from throughout the state.

“The unprecedented honor of naming an exam room after a Board Member as a result of a unanimous vote by the WellOne Board of Directors reflects the immeasurable indebtedness the agency owes Heidi for her nearly three decades of service”, stated WellOne President and CEO, Peter Bancroft. “Her perspective on all aspects of the agency’s operations and leadership, but particularly the needs of the northwest communities we serve was invaluable to the success WellOne enjoys today and certainly to the establishment of our Foster center. We wish Heidi well in this next phase of her life but her contributions and commitment will be sorely missed.”
