WellOne CMO named Rural Health Champion

WellOne is pleased to announce that Andrea Marcotte, MSN, FNP, GNP, our Vice President, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Operating Officer, was recently named a “Rural Health Champion” by the Rhode Island Department of Health for her work to improve the supply, distribution, diversity and quality of the health workforce, and increase access to healthcare in medically underserved areas.

Ms. Marcotte has been employed at WellOne, a federally qualified health center (FHQC), since 1997. Originally hired as a member of WellOne’s primary care provider team, Ms. Marcotte has since assumed the role of Vice President in addition to her other leadership duties.

Ms. Marcotte is the immediate past Board President for Northern Rhode Island Area Health Education Center (nriAHEC). During her tenure at nriAHEC, Andrea displayed a strong passion for strengthening the healthcare workforce to provide care to underserved populations
