Imagine a family. Imagine two working parents with health insurance and two small children, plus a recently widowed grandmother. Then one parent is laid off. Money is tight, health insurance premiums are high, the mortgage is due, and the family struggles to survive. The toddler needs immunizations and the elementary school age-child requires an annual physical. It is recommended that the mother have a gynecological exam and pap smear and the father is due for a colonoscopy while the grandmother was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. All need prescription medication.
Now imagine this is your family. What would you do? Where would you go?
Imagine if there was a place where every member of your family would receive the personalized care he or she needed? Where your family’s overall health and wellness would be treated. Medical check-ups, prevention, and monitoring. Laboratory testing. Dental screenings, examinations, cleanings and dentures. Behavioral health counseling to help cope with life’s challenges. Discounted prescriptions. A place where you can find help with obtaining health insurance for the children, purchasing food and fuel, and preventing your home’s foreclosure.
It already exists.
At WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care, affordable, high-quality healthcare and supplemental support services are available to ALL Rhode Islanders: individual or family, young or old, high income or low, insured or uninsured. Whether at one of our three community health centers or in local schools or nursing homes, we have been here for you, through good times and bad, for over 100 years.
Last year we were able to provide care to thousands of Rhode Islanders in need of a temporary helping hand as well as those who sought convenient, high-quality care unavailable elsewhere.
Help us make a difference again this year.
With your donation, one adult or child could receive:
$1,000 – An entire year of preventive medical and dental care or a complete set of dentures
$500 – One year of preventive medical care or a root canal
$250 – A six-month supply of prescription medications
$100 – A comprehensive physical exam
$50 – A dental cleaning
$25 – Diagnostic testing such as EKG, hearing or vision screening, or breathing capacity
EVERY donation makes a difference in the lives of the members of our community.
P.S. The latest Census reports, and we have seen ourselves, that working-age poor, adults age 18-64 who were laid off in the recent recession as well as single twenty-somethings still looking for jobs, represent nearly 3 out of 5 poor people, the highest number since the 1960s. Add to this the growing number of senior citizens who, despite a lifetime of employment and a small pension or retirement fund, are now struggling to survive.
These are not strangers but your friends, family, neighbors. Please help us help them get back on their feet.
You can make a donation in person at our health centers in Pascoag, Foster, or North Kingstown or mail payment to:
