WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care, the local community health center that provides affordable high-quality care for all, welcomes Barry Giordano, MEd, MSSS, LICSW to its North Kingstown location at 308 Callahan Road.
Barry, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, joins the North Kingstown team to offer behavioral health counseling to WellOne patients and residents in the surrounding communities in addition to the primary medical and dental care services. Barry provides individual, couple, family and group therapy for a wide range of issuesi ncluding anxiety, depression, and substance abuse.
In his over 40 years experience, Barry has provided therapy to many, treated panic & anxiety disorders, designed & conducted stress management programs including those for dental and medical test anxieties, and offered a full range of Employee Assistance Programs services.
Prior to his hiring at WellOne, Barry has offered his services to such varied organizations as: Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, Cynthia Berry MD & Associates, Affiliates for Psychotherapy & Counseling, AERO Programs Director, Boston College Graduate School of Social Work, Rhode Island College Graduate School of Social Work, and Northern RI Community Mental Health Center.
Barry received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Bates College, a Master’s of Science in Social Services from Boston University, and a Master’s of Education in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. He also completed advanced training in Behavioral Medicine with the Mind/Body Medical Institute at Harvard University.
