April 2019 — WellOne Primary, Medical and Dental Care, a Federally Qualified Health Center with several offices in Rhode Island, has announced that it will partner with CharterCARE Health Partners to provide specialty physician services to WellOne patients and other community residents.

Under the agreement, CharterCARE will provide physician specialists in urology, gastroenterology, general and weight loss surgery on site in a new facility at 82 Main Street in Pascoag. Specialty sessions will be available 5 days a week and referrals will be made directly by primary care providers at WellOne. Referrals from other primary care providers will also be accepted.

In addition, the Cardiovascular Institute of New England, with 12 offices throughout Rhode Island, will also be proving cardiology services from this same location.

“This agreement will provide convenient and direct access to important medical and surgical specialties for our patients,” stated Peter Bancroft, WellOne President and Chief Executive Officer. “We seek to maintain continuity of care management with specialty physicians and our partnership with CharterCARE is a major step to that objective.’

CharterCARE CEO Jeffrey Liebman stated, “This partnership creates a win-win situation for us and for WellOne. We are proud to work with an organization committed to providing community-based primary care and we look forward to expanding our specialty coverage for WellOne’s patients in the future.”

CharterCARE provides high quality, coordinated care through a network or providers, including Roger Williams Medical Center, Our Lady of Fatima Hospital, Blackstone Valley Surgicare, CharterCARE Medical Associates, Roger Williams Cancer Center, Southern New England Rehabilitation Center, and CharterCARE Home Health.
