WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care is pleased to announce the addition of Melissa Sabatini, LMHC, DMT-R, and Dr. Steven J. Hershey to its team of Behavioral Health Specialists. WellOne is a Federally-Qualified Community Health Center that provides primary medical, dental and behavioral health services in Pascoag, North Kingstown, Scituate and Foster.
Melissa Sabatini, LMHC, DMT-R
A Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Registered Dance Movement Therapist (DMT-R), Ms. Sabatini brings to the position 12 years of clinical experience treating adults with substance abuse, severe mental illness, personality disorder and dual diagnoses. She has extensive experience leading psycho-therapy and expressive art therapy groups and is skilled at integrating therapeutic dance and movement, music, art, role-playing, and other creative forms into structured and client-led therapy sessions.
Ms. Sabatini’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to assessing, evaluating, developing and executing treatment plans and coordinating continuity of care for discharge planning and aftercare. She is available to see adults 18 years and older in WellOne’s Pascoag and North Kingstown facilities.
Sabatini holds a Master’ss degree in Mental Health Counseling and Dance Movement Therapy from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Rhode Island.

Steven J. Hershey, Ph.D.
Dr. Hershey is a licensed psychologist and a certified school psychologist. In his role at WellOne, Dr. Hershey will focus on treating individuals with various behavioral issues and emotional problems such as, anxiety, depression, fears, phobias, and relationship issues. In addition, he will assess, diagnose and treat other psychological problems and behavioral dysfunctions through a variety of treatment modalities.
Dr. Hershey holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Hofstra University, New York. In addition he received his M.S. in School Psychology and a B.S. in Psychology from City College in New York.
His professional associations include memberships in the American Psychological Association and the Rhode Island Psychological Association, and its Ethics, Colleague Assistance Committees.
He is accepting appointments for patients in WellOne’s Foster office (401-647-3702 ext. 401,402) and in the Scituate office (401-647-6262).
“The critical shortage of behavioral health providers and the increase in mental health issues in Rhode Island has evolved into a serious problem for the behavioral health system in Rhode Island,” states Clifford Gordon, Ed.D., Director of Behavioral Health at WellOne. “The addition of Ms. Sabatini and Dr. Hershey to WellOne’s behavioral health team will improve access to these services and help fill that gap.”
