November 24th, 2015

WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care, the oldest nonprofit community health center in Rhode Island and a designated Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH), is pleased to announce the addition of Peter Wilkinson, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, to its team of medical, dental and behavioral health providers at WellOne’s facility in North Kingstown.

Mr. Wilkinson received a Master of Science degree in Nursing/Family Nurse Practitioner from Maryville University in St. Louis, MO, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts/Boston. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from both programs.

“As a result of the Affordable Care Act, a growing number of individuals are turning to Community Health Centers for their primary medical care,” states Andrea Marcotte, MSN, FNP, GNP, Chief Medical Officer of WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care. “Consequently, WellOne has been aggressively staffing all sites to meet our patients’ needs. Peter is a highly-skilled professional with over 28 years of clinical experience in chronic disease management, emergency nursing, hospital acute care, home health and case management. We are delighted that he has joined our team.”

Previous employment include positions at The Westerly Hospital, Kent County Memorial Hospital and at Visiting Nurse Services.

In addition to being a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner, Wilkinson is also certified in Chronic Care and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He was the recipient of the Highest Patient Satisfaction Award awarded by VNS Home Health Services and is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
