WELLONE PRIMARY MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE'S SIGNATURE FUNDRAISER

April 21st, 2015

The historic Roger Williams Park Casino provided the perfect backdrop for WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care’s annual signature event, “Generating Healthy Rhode Islanders,” on April 10. Organized to raise funds for an emergency generator for their North Kingstown health center, the event attracted over 150 guests. Gross proceeds amounted to approximately $30,000 and net proceeds came to approximately $15,000.

“We are extremely grateful to the Rhode Island community, especially to our event sponsors, donors and attendees for their support,” stated Peter Bancroft, president & CEO of WellOne Primary Medical and Dental Care.

The annual event also included the presentation of “The June Rockwell Levy Annual Public Health Service Award,” an award given to an individual who has demonstrated a positive impact on advancing the cause of public health in Rhode Island. This year’s award recipient was James Hooley. “Jim’s professional career has spanned more than 51 years in a variety of leadership roles in the nonprofit and governmental health care sectors in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, with a particular focus on the medically underserved,” stated Bancroft

All things electric was the evening’s theme with plugs, light bulbs, cords and strands of white lights adorning the tables and room to highlight a “generator” theme. In between visits to food stations featuring Rhode Island favorite fare, guests browsed the silent auction table and were invited to spin “The Wheel of Light” for a chance to win prizes. A performance by Charlie Hall’s Ocean State Follies concluded the evening.
